Free · No signup required

Typos and grammar mistakes are easy to miss in your own writing, especially in a long document you’ve read many times already. PDF Studio’s AI proofreader scans the full text for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and clarity issues, returning corrected text so errors get caught before the document goes out.

How to Use AI Proofreader

  1. 1

Upload the PDF you want proofread.

  2. 2

PDF Studio’s AI scans the text for grammar, spelling, and clarity issues.

  3. 3

Review the suggested corrections and download the corrected text.

A second pair of eyes

After reading your own writing several times, your brain fills in missing words and skips over typos. AI Proofreader reads the text of your document with fresh eyes and returns a corrected version along with a summary of what it changed, which is useful for reports, applications, essays, emails you have saved as PDFs, and drafts of every kind.

Language and style options

Choose the language of the text, or let the tool detect it automatically. Then choose how much to change: “Grammar only” fixes grammar and spelling and leaves your style alone; “Style and clarity” also improves readability and flow and explains why; the default combines grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, clarity, and word choice, with brief explanations of significant changes.

What you get and where the text goes

You receive the corrected text and a summary of corrections, which you can copy or download as a .txt or PDF file. Your browser extracts the text; only the text is sent through our server to an AI model. PDF Studio does not keep a copy, but the AI service processes it, so avoid proofreading text you must keep confidential. Each tool allows 10 requests per minute per visitor.

Limits and good practice

About the first 25,000 characters of text (roughly 4,000 words) are checked, so split long documents with Split PDF. The result comes back as plain text, not as a corrected copy of the PDF, so you will need to paste the changes into your original document. AI can occasionally change a meaning or “correct” a deliberate choice such as a name or technical term, so read the corrections before accepting them.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of errors does it catch?

The proofreader checks for grammar mistakes, spelling errors, punctuation issues, and general clarity problems.

Will it rewrite my document’s style, or just fix errors?

Your choice: “grammar only” fixes grammar and spelling without touching style, “style and clarity” also improves readability and flow, and the default does both with short explanations of significant changes.

Does it work on documents in languages other than English?

Yes. You can let the tool detect the language automatically or choose one, and it proofreads in that language. Accuracy is best in widely used languages. About the first 25,000 characters of text are checked.

Can I see exactly what was changed?

The corrected text is presented for your review so you can compare it against the original before using it.

Can I choose to fix only grammar and spelling?

Yes. Choose “Grammar only” to correct errors without changing your style, or “Style and clarity” if you also want help with flow and readability.

Does it work for languages other than English?

Yes. Choose the language or let the tool detect it. Accuracy is best in widely used languages.

Will I get a corrected PDF?

You get corrected text with a summary of changes, which you can copy or download as a TXT or PDF file. It is not an edited copy of your original layout.

How much text is checked?

About the first 25,000 characters (roughly 4,000 words). Split longer documents into parts.
